Tuebingen (March 28, 2011) – GMG, a leading developer and supplier of high-end color man-agement software solutions, is presenting the newly released Version 4.7 of its GMG Col-orServer and GMG InkOptimizer color management solutions, together with an update of the GMG SmartProfiler profiling and calibration tool to Version 1.5. The new versions are character¬ized by even greater user-friendliness and maximized production reliability.

The GMG ColorServer color management software performs fully automatic color space con-version on RGB, CMYK, and mixed data, in order to obtain uniform color standards. GMG Ink¬Optimizer has already been in successful use for several years for automatically reducing the amount of chromatic ink used, thereby improving printing properties and enabling cost savings.

Norwich (17.03.2011) – Rotherham’s Bluetree Ltd has guaranteed colour consistency across its diverse portfolio of large format digital printers by centralising colour management with GMG ColorServer and GMG SmartProfiler colour management software. The sign and display specialist has also realised savings on ink costs of around 25% with the GMG InkOptimizer package.

Bluetree runs six digital inkjet machines: a roll-fed Epson Stylus Pro 1180 and Scitex XP2700, a flat-bed Inca Spyder, a Develop Ineo 5501 and two flat-bed HP Scitex FB7500s, and turned to GMG to address colour consistency issues.

Tuebingen (25.10.2010) Exeter labels and packaging specialist James Townsend has launched its inhouse prepress department as a separate reprographics company called Think Repro as part of its expansion plans. It has also installed a Roland VersaUV LEC-330 which, linked to its GMG colour management workflow, enables it to offer colour accurate proofs on any substrate.
