March 31st, 2014 – Absolute Digital Print, a print services company based in the North West, has invested in GMG ColorProof and GMG ColorServer to offer a higher quality, consistent print and proofing service across its fleet of digital, B2 litho and wide format print devices.

Absolute Digital initially started as a purely digital print services provider, with the proposition of addressing the quality end of the local short-run market. Within a short space of time, clients were turning to the company to address more and more of their print requirements – including longer-run jobs that lend themselves better to litho printing. “Our ethos is to provide a diverse range of high-quality print services with the focus on offering exceptional customer service,” says Jon Wallbank, Director at Absolute Digital. “We found ourselves investing in B3, and later B2, sheet offset presses to enable us to increase on the range of services we offered.”

Probably better known for its work in the flyer market where it offers rapid turnround, low priced products, the investment in a LumeJet reflects the company’s ongoing push to diversify its offering.

Darlington based print and photo product specialist, Sense Creative, has signed a contract for the purchase a LumeJet S200 printer.

The move is designed to extend the company’s portfolio of products and specifically to target the photographic market with the ultra-high quality output from the LumeJet.

March 25th, 2014 – The Royal Academy Schools staged its annual Premium Interim Projects exhibition recently to show the development of students work during their second year of study.

The show provided a unique opportunity to view the exciting new work by the artists at the interim point of their three year postgraduate fine art studies at the UK’s most prestigious art school.

Screen, the world’s leading manufacturer of high-speed inkjet, has announced an agreement with the French company TagG Informatique (TagG) to release a fully native IPDS controller for its Truepress Jet520 family of printers.

TagG has more than ten years’ experience of building high specification controllers for outputting AFP/IPDS through its partnerships with several major manufacturers of cutsheet and continuous colour printers.

Label and packaging specialist Springfield Solutions Ltd, Hull, UK, has invested in Europe’s first Screen Truepress Jet L350UV digital label press to make it one of Europe’s leading all-digital label print firms.

The £570,000 investment in the press doubles the company’s label printing capacity, boosts productivity and enables it to develop new label applications. The new single-pass Screen Truepress Jet L350UV, installed earlier this month, is already in production and complements Springfield Solutions’ existing trio of HP Indigo digital label presses.
