Screen, the print on demand and imaging specialist, announces the launch of the ultra high-throughput Truepress Jet520ZZ printing system. The flagship of the Truepress Jet520 series, the new system is capable of high quality, variable colour printing at 220 m/min, equivalent to 175,000 A4 pages per hour.

Inca Digital boosts Onset S20 production speed to reach 310 Sqm/Hr

23rd September 2010 – Inca Digital has increased the output of its wide format Inca Onset S20 flatbed printer to 310 sqm/hr. The Onset S20 has undergone two speed upgrades since its launch last year to give an overall 24 per cent performance boost: new automation introduced in June gave the first improvement, while the new print mode announced today adds a further 15per cent.

While this new faster print mode may not be suitable for the most demanding images, tests have shown that it will be suitable for a variety of everyday files. The printer’s new high-speed mode enables users to print high-volume graphics at 310 sqm/hr, equivalent to 62 full beds per hour. This mode has been introduced in response to users’ requirements for even higher levels of ultra-fast display graphics production.

EskoArtwork, Sun Chemical and GMG join forces to deliver integrated spot color workflow for labels and packaging

Tuebingen (September 14, 2010) – GMG, a leading developer and supplier of high-end color management software solutions, today announced that its partnership with Sun Chemical is extended to further integrate access to the Sun Chemical SmartColour™ database in a workflow where EskoArtwork pre-production tools and GMG proofing solutions are combined. This collaboration among three industry leaders offers a deeper, more integrated end-to-end color workflow in the label and packaging industries.

SmartColour, a database of real ink-on-substrate color results, including leading brand-owner color specifications, saves time and money by eliminating the need to fingerprint spot colors on production presses in order to obtain accurate color results on proof. The EskoArtwork Color Engine connects to the SmartColour database and manages SmartColour ink information, using the full spectral ink profile data to calculate spot color overprints. Under the new partnership, GMG will integrate the EskoArtwork technology to connect its ColorProof proofing solution to the SmartColour Engine.

Inca Digital appoints business development manager

Company explores wider opportunities for digital inkjet

1st September 2010– Inca Digital, a manufacturer of large format inkjet printing technology, has appointed Dr Nigel Sherman as its first Business Development Manager.

Since it was established 10 years ago, Inca has been at the forefront of inkjet development, bringing a range of innovative flatbed printers including the flagship Inca Onset, the Onset S20 and the Spyder range, all sold exclusively by Fujifilm into the graphics sector worldwide. While large format printing will remain a priority for the company, there are strong commercial prospects for Inca’s inkjet technology in a diverse range of other new sectors.
