GMG increases its substrate range with matte and gloss

A wider range of papers adds versatility to the GMG paper portfolio

Tuebingen (May 29th, 2008) – GMG, supplier of high-end color management and proofing solutions, has added new media to its portfolio of substrates for high-quality proofing and will present the new papers at Drupa 2008. The new GMG ProofPaper collection comprises GMG ProofPaper matte 140 and GMG ProofPaper gloss 250.

All GMG substrates are manufactured to more than meet the stringent demands on a color-accurate contract proof and have a high paper tint accuracy, particularly high ink limits and very good drying properties. GMG printer calibrations are optimally adapted to the respective substrate, the inks and the output device – the fundamental prerequisite for remote proofing within a family of printers. GMG also guarantees that the properties of the substrates are consistent from batch to batch.

– GMG, supplier of high-end color management and proofing solutions, will present GMG ColorMaster in Box at Drupa 2008. With RGB data storage and workflows becoming increasingly popular in the graphic arts industry, ColorMaster in a Box is an attractive proposition for companies that want to keep their data in the RGB color space for as long as possible, such as advertising agencies, repro shops, prepress businesses and print buyers who create data from a wide variety of media and printing processes, or who process printing data for production in different countries and have to give consideration to different standards.

GMG Connect provides the missing link

GMG Connect gives total control and connectivity to color management and proofing

Tuebingen (May 29, 2008) – GMG, supplier of high-end color management and proofing solutions, is to announce at Drupa its new product GMG Connect. GMG Connect links up GMG’s proofing and color management products to create a central, scalable color management workflow solution.

This networked and centrally controllable solution allows all process progress to be monitored at all times, permitting access to GMG installations at different locations via an intranet or the internet. GMG color management and proofing can be synchronized across all locations in order to guarantee consistent quality standards. GMG color management and proofing functions can be integrated into existing workflows and browser-based remote proofing and color management is also possible. Individual jobs can be created in automated fashion on the basis of XML and XMP data. The installation of maintenance of dozens of different hot folders is a thing of the past.

At the heart of GMG Connect is the Connect Server, which is the control centre for information exchange and communicates with the individual connectors, GMG FlowConnect, GMG WebConnect and GMG o4 Connect.

A lineup of POD options for different printing variations

The Media And Precision Technology Company (President: Kyohei Fujisawa) of Dainippon Screen Mfg. Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kyoto, Japan) will be exhibiting the Truepress Jet520 solution, which is suitable for a wide variety of printing applications, throughout the two-week-long drupa 2008 International Trade Fair, which takes place in Düsseldorf, Germany between May 29 and June 11.

In recent years, the need for Print on Demand (POD) has increased in every printing field. Since its commercial release in 2006, the Truepress Jet520 full-color variable printing system has received rave reviews as an on-demand printing system for a variety of applications, including the printing of newspapers, direct mail, invoices, books, and more, and it is now the number one system of its kind worldwide.

At its drupa stand in Hall 8b, Screen will feature two separate Truepress Jet520 lines focusing on different applications. A full duplex line (two engines) will highlight newspaper production with live printing of several major international publications including the Daily Mail, Le Monde, El Pais, and Asahi Shimbun. (Headquarters: Kyoto, Japan) has developed the world’s first sheet-fed*1 inkjet printing technology for use with ordinary printing paper, and is proud to announce a prototype of a full-color sheet-fed variable printing system that features this technology, the Truepress Jet SX.
