UK large-format POS specialist Best Digital — company slogan “Large format, direct to almost anything!” — has boosted production capacity by 50% after investing in a Screen Truepress Jet W3200UV HS wide-format flat-bed printer.  The new machine, which has been part-funded with a £50,000 grant from the UK’s Regional Growth Fund, features CMYK plus light cyan and light magenta and two opaque white ink channels.  It joins a Screen Truepress Jet 2500UV hybrid wide-format printer at Best’s Welwyn Garden City plant and replaces a Screen Truepress Jet W1632UV. Leading label, plastics and digital printing specialist Print-Leeds has cemented its position as one of the UK’s most technologically-advanced printing houses with the arrival of a Screen Truepress Jet W3200UV ST wide-format flat-bed printer.

The new machine replaces the Screen Truepress Jet 1600UV printer that Print-Leeds installed in 2010 to meet increasing demand for high-quality short-run and one-off work.

Screen’s latest high-speed web-fed inkjet press, the Truepress Jet520HD, will be the centrepiece of the Screen exhibit at this year’s Hunkeler Innovationdays (Messe Lucerne, 23rd to 26th February).

The Truepress Jet520HD will print “live” alongside a standard Truepress Jet520, producing a variety of commercial print applications, including high-quality cookery books and short-run magazines.

Commercial print firm Lanes Printers of Broadstairs, Kent, has taken delivery of a new Screen PlateRite 8600N-S B1thermal platesetter to deliver a more efficient and productive plate production workflow to the company’s growing offset print services.

Founded as a family-owned business in 1897, Lanes Printers was acquired in 1990 by current Managing Director Wayne Yorath and 4 years ago by his daughter Rachel.
